Good news Facebook advertisers – The social media giant has found a way to block ad blocker software from working on their desktop website. Ad Blockers do exactly what it sounds like they do. They block and prevent any and all ads from popping up, displaying sidebar ads, and other ads that may take away from the user experience.

Ad Blockers are actually part of a larger debate: Ads take away from the user experience but it’s also how many independent publishers make a living.

For those who advertise on Facebook, this is certainly good news as now their ads will be shown regardless of any ad blocking software installed on the users computer. For Facebook users who are using ad blocker software, there’s still a small win for you as well, Facebook overhauled their ad preference platform making it easier to hide ads.

What do you think? Should people be allowed to use ad blockers on websites or are ads the cost for a free user experience?
